Lagoon Pocket Bed & Breakfast is for sale

Lagoon Pocket Bed & Breakfast is for sale. If you are looking for an escape from the rat race, a chance to live in a beautiful place and earn a good income, read on…..

After 14 years of running our much loved bed & breakfast we have decided we need a new challenge and have made the difficult decision to sell. Neither of us have ever done anything for this long before, which is testament to how much we have enjoyed our time as B&B owners.

We created this business to suit us, and 14 years on and six TripAdvisor Certificates of Excellence later it has proved a winner with our guests too! That nauseating old adage of “come as guests, leave as friends” has proved very true for us. Some of our best mates have driven onto the property as guests!  James calls our business “reverse travelling” because we share stories with our guests from all over Australia and the world over breakfast.

Ours is a business you can do yourself without having to employ anyone. You can run it to suit yourself, and what you like. We love dogs so we are dog friendly, which is a fabulous niche market for us. We are also child friendly, something many B&B’s aren’t but it works for us. We don’t offer self-catering cooking facilities because we love cooking and like to spoil our guests. With only three rooms we are often taken over by groups of friends for a weekend house party or accommodation for friends and family attending a wedding or birthday party. We love this because we get to join in the fun and hear all the stories over breakfast.

Being on nearly 12 acres of land there is room for the gardener to stretch their green thumbs. Or for the horse lover to have a pony or two. Or in our case to run a few head of cattle. Who, if they are good, get to live the life of Riley as our pets. If they are not good they have a choice of either the market or the freezer. Our present family of four cows, all with names, are very good and we would love to sell them with the property.

What is our next challenge? We are off to travel, as our neighbour summed it up “to live out of our ports” for a year or two or …and to take my travel blog onto the next level!

If you would like to chat to us about running a B&B feel free to give us a call (07 54832112) or shoot us an email. If you want to talk to our agent give Murray Benton at Century 21 a call.
